THEN AND NOW - JULY 2014

NORTHEAST LOS ANGELES DIDN’T GET COOL THE DAY CRAFT BEER ARRIVED.

NELA:  a place of ingenuity fueled by its D.I.Y. sensibilities, deep-rooted history in Music, Hotrods, Motorcycle culture, BMX, Skate, Graffiti and more. Andrés Cuervo of N.E.L.A. Clothing Company and established artist and Glassell Park native Dave Tourjé have embarked on a quest. Their mission is to develop a dialogue around the history of N.E.L.A., the pieces of it that could end up lost in another generation, or left in obscurity. From tales told by elders, natives and those who currently engage in supporting their cohesion, Andrés and Dave want to help tune the cultural narrative allowing her unique energy to resonate.
